Recurring Orders

It’s here!! The time is now. You can order your copy paper, kitchen roll towels and your favorite pens on a recurring order. You’ll never run out of those important items again.

 

Setting up recurring orders is easy!

  1. Login to shopj2.com
  2. Add items you’d like to be on a recurring order to your cart.
  3. Click checkout
  4. Click Yes! Start a Recurring Order
  5. Select frequency from drop down menu
  6. Click Place Order. You’re initial order will be placed immediately and you’ll also receive a recurring order reference name for the recurring orders.
  7. You’ll receive two emails after you place your order. One will confirm your first order, the second will confirm the creation of a recurring order.

Editing Recurring Orders

  1. You can make changes to your recurring order by browsing to My Accounts –> Manage Recurring Orders
  2. Click on the Recurring Order number to access the edit screen.
  3. You can edit any of the following fields here: Order Name, Order Frequency, Next Order Date, Account, Shipping Address, Specify Purchase Order, Additional Instructions, Payment Method, Edit/Add/Delete items,  or Delete the Recurring Order

Adding Items to an Existing Recurring Order

  1. Log into the online store
  2. Select My Account, Manage Recurring Orders
  3. Select desired Recurring Order Name
  4. Scroll to bottom of Manage Recurring Order screen
  5. Select Add New Items
  6. Browse to desired item
  7. Underneath the item, select Add To Order (make sure correct Recurring Order is selected in drop down menu)

You will receive an advanced email notification based on the settings you chose in your recurring order set up.

Why ergonomics?
An ergonomic chair will ensure that you are sitting in the best possible position to decrease the risk of injury and increase productivity.

Your ergonomic chair should have:

Lumbar Support – Your chair should support the natural curvature of your lumbar (low spine) to reduce lower back strain. When placed correctly, a lumbar back support should provide alignment of your hips and shoulders

Armrests – Chair armrests should be adjusted to a height and width that allow for shoulders to be relaxed (not hunched), allow for upper arms to stay as close as possible to the body, and support the forearms.

Seat Height and Depth – Chair seat height should be adjusted to a height that allows for feet to be flat on the ground or a footrest and hips to be at or slightly above knee level. Seat depth should be adjusted for 2-3″ of clearance between the front edge of the seat and the back of the knees.

Beware the Toner Pirates

Every day, scores of businesses are defrauded of hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars by smooth-talking scam artists who seem to know a lot about their office copiers.  Called toner phoners or toner pirates, the crooks hawk toner and cartridges for copy machines to unsuspecting businesses over the telephone.  When the goods are delivered, they’re overpriced, of poor quality, short on quantity, or all three.  Customers who refuse to pay are threatened with bad credit or even lawsuits.  Very often customers pay up rather than having their credit history marred or going to the expense of hiring a lawyer.

We receive many questions from customers about calls they receive from these unfamiliar sources requesting information about their copiers or offering toner at a “special” price”.  If you get a call like this, always ask for the caller’s name, telephone number, and company name.  These questions usually result in the caller hanging up indicating that they are in fact a toner pirate.  AARGH!

Estimates vary, but American businesses lose anywhere from $200 million to nearly $4 billion annually to the con artists.  According to FBI estimates, businesses are the target in 12 percent of all telephone fraud cases.  The Division of Marketing Practices at the FTC says the typical toner pirate scam has two phases.

In Phase One, cold calls in a target area are made in order to determine if a business has a copier, and if so, the make and model number.  These unscrupulous callers often pretend to be from a local office supply dealership where the computers have broken down and they need to verify orders by phone.  Another ruse is to say that new manuals are being sent out and the caller needs to verify the make and model number.  The whole point of the exercise is to set up follow-up calls.  Now armed with make and model, the next callers can convincingly pass themselves off as the target company’s regular dealer or an affiliate.  A few days later the customer will receive a box containing a low-quality product or low quantity case and a bill eight to ten times higher than the legitimate price.  Many companies pay the bill without realizing they’ve been duped. Others, while realizing they’ve been had, pay the bill to avoid all the aggravation.  Companies that refuse to pay are often threatened with legal suits and poor credit ratings.

In Phase Two additional toner and bills are sent to the companies that paid before.  You may want to consider these tips to put toner pirates on perpetual hold:

  • Know who you are talking to. If you are unsure ask if you can call back.  Toner pirates will rarely offer a return number.  Or, install caller ID on your phone system so that you can verify the call is from a legitimate business.
  • Establish clear purchasing guidelines and designate persons authorized to make purchases. Make sure all employees are clear on the policy.
  • Instruct employees not to provide information to callers about office equipment. Do not accept delivery of shipments you did not order or authorize.  If you do wind up with an unauthorized shipment, send a certified letter to the seller demanding proof of the order and demand the shipper retrieve the goods at his own expense.
  • Buy brand-name supplies from your regular dealer.
  • Do not be bullied with threats of lawsuits. Few if any toner pirates follow through since legal action would involve discovery proceedings, the last thing any toner pirate wants!

Guide to ShopJ2.com Online Store Experience

J2 Business Products loves the online store shopping experience and would like to make it as streamlined as possible for you. Here are some tips and some of our favorite features explained.

Quick Order is a quick and efficient way to place orders if you know the item numbers for the products you’re purchasing. It allows you to purchase for multiple departments at one time, by line item.

Ink & Toner Finder is a great way to find toner for your LaserJet printers. Type in your brand, model number, and the proper ink will display. You will not find the toner for the Sharp leased machines using this feature, please call 752-8520 or email [email protected] with your ID# to place an order for a Sharp or Kyocera toner.

Favorites is where you can create lists of frequently purchased items. Click Favorites -> Manage Favorites Lists -> Create New List, Add a List Name, and Add/Edit Items to add items to your list. As you’re shopping you will also notice a button near the Add to Cart button that adds it to your favorites list.

Order History is a great tool to check on current orders, reprint invoices, and reorder items that you previously purchased. Browse to My  Accounts -> Order History. You can narrow down the invoices by using the Search tab on the order history page.
